Simulated atmospheric CO concentrations - Use Cases Istanbul Region

Simulated atmospheric CO concentrations: Tekirdag 2020-09-10 08:45:00

Data sources:
The data is derived from simulations with the Lagrangian Dispersion Model FLEXPART (v11) for three Use Cases in the Istanbul Region. The simulations were performed at the University of Vienna (Department of Meteorology and Geophysics; andreas.plach@univie.ac.at). For each Use Case 1000 kg of CO were released from the respective wildfire locations and followed forward in time (1000000 virtual particles). The maps show CO concentrations in ng m-3 in the lowest 100 m above ground. Simulation output resolution: 0.1 x 0.1°.

Meteorological input data used for the FLEXPART simulations: ERA5 reanalysis data at a spatial and temporal resolution of 0.5 x 0.5° and 1-hourly, respectively, provided by the ECMW (https://www.ecmwf.int/en/forecasts/dataset/ecmwf-reanalysis-v5).

Map produced by University of Vienna and GeoVille Information Systems and Data Processing GmbH and released on 31/07/2023. This work is supported by The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft = FFG) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) through the EUREKA European Research Funding Program.
